Clinical Background
Prior to founding Outlier Wellness, V served as a community mental health clinician, disaster relief worker, EMT, journalist, and modern dance instructor. They joined the counseling profession to confront systemic clinical practices and decolonize psychotherapy.
V completed their Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy certification (TF-CBT) from the University of Washington’s Harborview Abuse and Trauma Center.
As a National Board for Certified Counselors Minority Fellow, V received advanced training in culturally-responsive clinical interventions.
In session, V uses Narrative, Psychodynamic, and Culturally-Responsive approaches to anchor the client’s story and support their intersectional needs.
V is a non-binary and Queer therapist, a Korean transracial adoptee, and elder Millennial. Outside of therapy, V is an avid birder and corner brownie stan.
